Ecological Investigations of the Scottish Lichen Flora

Modelling and monitoring

Modelling of the potential effects of climate change on a range of montane lichen species using a climate-envelope approach has been carried out at RBGE. Long term monitoring for characteristic montane species has also been established in order to ascertain whether long term trends match model predictions. For further details go to the Royal Botanic Edinburgh website.

Ecological studies of lichens at RBGE also cover a number of other threatened and/or little-known Scottish lichen habitats including Aspen woods, Juniper scrub and shingle. For information go to the Royal Botanic Edinburgh website.
